A busy week in New York City culminated Friday evening with the annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Ceremony at the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel.

In 198 starts from 1960 to 1972 (he never came close to running a full season), Yarbrough won 14 races. His best season was 1969 when he won seven times in 31 starts with 21 top 10s and 16 top fives. Among his wins in 1969 were the Daytona 500, World 600 and Southern 500. He swept both races at Daytona and Darlington that year.
