1935: Bill Dennis, the 1970 NASCAR rookie of the year, is born on this date. Although Dennis went winless in 83 Cup races with six top fives and 21 top 10s, he does a hold a distinction he shares with Dale Earnhardt and his son Dale Jr. -- three consecutive Nationwide Series wins at Daytona International Speedway. Dennis' wins (1972-74) came in the Late Model Sportsman Division, which later became the Nationwide Series. Dale Sr. won five in a row (1990-94), and Dale Jr. won both races in 2003 and the first in 2004.
